How to make your HCM Solution Projects more successful

Steve Bogner, Martin Gillet, Luke Marson, Jarret Pazahanick and Brandon Toombs reviewed in Podcast "How to make your SAP Successfactor Projects more successful" good points to take into account when planning a HCM Solution implementation.

Few key point that they did make

  • Plan a pre project before actual implementation. It will be even better if you have some project implementation experienced consultant/business analyst to run the show.
  • Have consultants that have AMS experience. There might be very technical consultants that can make the system work like customer expect, but solution is real pain to maintain.
  • Staff your project well. Present day HCM Solution implementation especially full suite (HCM Core, Core Compensation, Adv compensation etc, Talent, Absence) takes Full FTE from project team and can't be done with just overtime.
  • Work with the implementation partner that approves another implementation partner in customer roles. As your existing team might be a bit too little for the project, have experienced implementation people on the customer roles. Then you will get the knowledge of both sides.
  • Have your implementation reviewed with 3rd party (SAP or someone) before go-live. This was actually interesting point between Successfactors and Workday implementation. In Workday implementation there is mandatory Delivery Assurance made by Workday even you are implementing with other Implementation partners. Delivery assurance checkpoint are reviewed trough project with certain steps.

These were the tips and trick for customer. Interesting topic would be what whould be the customers tips and trick for implementation partners after implementations and being live for a one year.
